Blessings in the Messy

Maya Angelou says it best! "I realize that living well is an art which can be developed. Of course, you will need the basic talents to build upon: They are a love of life and ability to take great pleasure from small offerings, an assurance that the world owes you nothing and that every gift is exactly that, a gift." I know that COVID has brought upon many disruptions. It can be hard for children with autism and their parents. Through this time, I have found that fixing my focus on gratitude daily helps us all to keep putting our best foot forward. For the first time, our son, told us that his ears hurt the week before Christmas. When he is in pain, he usually shuts down completely. After a week of random crying but no answers, he told us! He ended up having a double ear infection. All I could think about it is what a blessing that he used his words to get his needs met. Remember to find the blessing in the messy!
