As we near the last weeks of school, I remember how hard the summers used to be without a schedule for Preston and the last few days of school. He is all smiles now to get out of school in 5th grade! Kinder through 3rd grade, I had to have structured mornings for him during the summer break 4 to 5 days a week. I also had to pull him out of school a few days early because of all the changes to his schedule and unstructured time. Now we are able to celebrate the last few days of school, freedom, sleeping in, and not doing schoolwork and schedules all summer. Transitions can be hard for all kids at times, but it will get better in time. Hang in there!
